| ‘In this section of the site are
a collection of studies; some stand-alone explorations of
aspects of God’s word, often more detailed consideration of
matters that might appear as footnotes in the commentaries, and
sometimes preliminary considerations of books written in
preparation for development of a commentary. The primary purpose
of the site is the development of book-length commentaries, but
often a preliminary step or by-product of the development of
commentaries is the production of a study setting out the
consideration of an issue or a line of argument from the Bible
as a whole or a particular theme or book. Where it is thought
that such notes or considerations might be of interest they have
been included in this part of the site.
In using the studies the following guidance may be helpful.
The studies will appear in title alphabetical order. Often the
titles to such studies will give the subject matter of the
study, but sometimes the title may not give a full impression of
the scope of the study. In addition some studies may be linked
as part of a mini-series (for example a preliminary series in
preparation for the writing of a commentary). The titles of the
studies may not make clear that individual studies are linked,
and with what other studies.
The reader is welcome to peruse the studies in whatever way
is most attractive. However in order to assist a reader who may
be seeking a particular subject or issue, the key matters in the
studies have been linked to a ‘key-word index’. A search on a
key-word will identify those studies relating to that key-word.’
