Welcome to

Bible-Studies.org.uk

This is a free Bible study site, hosting a Bible book-by-book commentary (in development) and other Bible studies.

The first commentary (on the Gospel of Luke) was completed in 2005 (although it is hoped to refine and tidy it up this year).  A commentary on Hebrews is also substantially finished and awaits only the final review and epilogue.

Currently in process of uploading is the third commentary, on the book of Genesis. It is hoped that the lessons gleaned from the experience of developing Luke and Hebrews will make the refinement of Genesis much speedier.

The programme for the next twelve months (or so) is  -

  • Genesis and Acts - by end Sept 2007
  • Mark - by December 2007
  • Jonah/Hosea/Micah/Zechariah and Romans - 2008

Beyond that work has begun on Exodus, Job, Jeremiah, Malachi, Philippians, Colossians and 1&2 Thessalonians.

The purpose of the site and why the approach in it is different from other Bible study sites is explained in the about section of this site. A full history of updates can be found in news archive. To send comments or queries regarding anything in the site please go to the contact page.

How to use this site

Each study in each commentary or independent study is available in three ways.

  1. First it can be read on the web page itself.  Simply click 'Commentaries' on the bar at the top of the page and then select the book and the section you require in the box at the top left hand side of each commentary page.  (You can also move sequentially through each commentary using the 'next' button in the bar at the top.)
  2. Then for ease of printing (or for those who would rather read black on white) a 'printer safe' version is given.
  3. Finally a 'download' is provided so that the study may be downloaded to your own computer in a Microsoft Word file.

In addition it is intended to offer each commentary as a single download for those who would like to receive the entire text in one file.  The same facility will be offered for groups of the 'studies' where they are related as a series.

If any of the 'printer safe' or 'download' pages do not work, please notify me by the e-mail link provided.
